Custom Postcards

Marketing postcards are small, printed cards that businesses, churches, schools, nonprofits, and organizations use to promote products, services, events, and special announcements. They can be mailed directly to homes, handed out at events, included in customer orders, or used as invitations and promotional pieces.

Common uses include:

Advertising: Showcase your business, products, or services to generate awareness and attract new customers.

Promotions: Announce special offers, discounts, sales events, and limited-time deals.

Product launches: Introduce new products or services and highlight key features and benefits.

Event invitations: Promote church services, community events, workshops, grand openings, fundraisers, and celebrations.

Customer appreciation: Thank customers for their support and encourage repeat business.

Follow-ups: Send thank-you messages, reminders, warranty details, or helpful information after a purchase.

Postcards should include an eye-catching design, concise message, and clear call-to-action to help generate customer interest and response.

Postcard Printing FAQs

Have questions about postcard sizes, paper, artwork or finishing? Here are answers to some of the most common postcard printing questions.

What postcard sizes are available?

Common postcard sizes include 4" × 6", 5" × 7", 5.5" × 8.5" and 6" × 9". Other sizes may also be available depending on your project.

Can postcards be printed in a custom size?

Yes. Postcards can often be trimmed to a custom size. Contact us before preparing the artwork so we can confirm the finished dimensions and provide the correct file specifications.

What type of paper is used for postcards?

Postcards are normally printed on cardstock to give them a sturdy, professional feel. Different paper weights and finishes are available to match the look and purpose of your project.

Should I choose coated or uncoated cardstock?

Coated cardstock gives photographs and colors a smooth, vibrant appearance. Uncoated cardstock has a more natural finish and is easier to write on. The best choice depends on the design and how the postcard will be used.

Can postcards be printed on both sides?

Yes. Postcards can be printed on one or both sides. Two-sided printing provides more room for photographs, promotional details, event information and contact information.

Can postcards be printed in full color?

Yes. Full-color printing is ideal for photographs, illustrations, logos and branded designs. Postcards may also be printed in black and white when a simpler appearance is preferred.

Does my postcard artwork need bleed?

Yes, if any background color, photograph or design element extends to the finished edge. Add 0.125" of bleed on every side and extend the artwork completely through the bleed area.

What size should my postcard file be?

The file should include the finished postcard size plus 0.125" of bleed on every side. For example, artwork for a finished 6" × 4" postcard should measure 6.25" × 4.25" with bleed.

How far should text be from the edge?

Keep important text, logos and contact information at least 0.125" inside the finished trim edge. Keeping important content farther inside provides additional protection against normal cutting variation.

What image resolution should I use?

Images should normally be prepared at 300 DPI at their final printed size. Low-resolution images taken from websites or enlarged beyond their original size may appear blurry or pixelated when printed.

What color mode should I use?

CMYK is the preferred color mode for commercial printing. Artwork created in RGB may shift slightly when converted for printing because screens and printing equipment produce colors differently.

What file format should I submit?

A print-ready PDF is usually the best choice. The file should be prepared at the correct size with bleed included. Fonts should be embedded or converted to outlines, and images should be high resolution.

Can you check my artwork before printing?

We can check the file for basic printing concerns such as size, bleed, margins and image quality. A file check does not normally include proofreading, so review all names, dates, prices and contact information carefully before submitting your order.

Can you help design my postcard?

Yes. If you don’t have print-ready artwork, contact us about design assistance. Provide your text, logo, photographs, contact information and any brand colors you want included.

Can I order a small quantity of postcards?

Quantity options depend on the postcard size, cardstock and finishing. Contact us if you need a small custom quantity or aren’t sure which option is best for your project.

How long does postcard printing take?

Production time depends on the quantity, cardstock, finishing and current workload. Let us know before ordering if the postcards are needed for a specific event or deadline.
